Jacques Garcia, Arhitect & Interior Designer
When I first saw Jacques Garcia’s pieces of art integrated into an elegant neo- Gothic interior, I immediately fell in love with his style. A famous architect and interior designer, a reference artist for elegance and refinement, Jacques Garcia designs in order to create worlds, to offer an outstanding sensory experience.
He is mixing 17th- and 18th-century influences with contemporary style, creating a timeless interpretation of French elegance.
This unrivaled specialist of spectacular interiors became famous after rethinking Napoléon III opulent style, in Hôtel Costes, in Paris, and the 18th-century tea house for Ladurée, on the Champs Elysées, a decade ago. Ever since, he has been renovating private houses and public spaces around the world, he has been designing furniture collections, amazing pieces of art, for MCGuire Furniture and Interna Collection. He has been the recipient of many French cultural distinctions, named commander of the Order of Arts and Letters and a Chevalier in the order of the Légion d’honneur.
Jacques Garcia conceived each design as a reference to the history. The details in his designs flow with elegance, strong use of colour, theatrical perspectives. He makes use of precious tapestry of materials and furnishings, sensuous fabrics, XIXth century engravings, Viollet Le Duc chandeliers, mosaics, beautiful hand-painted doors, black granite for the floor.
The artist finds inspiration in Zen minimalism, neo-Gothic architecture, Egyptian revival architecture, Napoleon III extravagance.
A history lover, Jacques Garcia is an avid art collector with an exceptional talent of bringing the soul out of places. He was also the architect for the Hôtel Costes and the Hôtel Bourg Tibourg in Paris, Nomad Hotel in Manhattan, The Mamounia Hotel in Marrakesh, Danieli in Venice, all of them a blend of luxury exuberance and dramatic interiors.
Hôtel Bourg Tibourg, Paris
Hidden in the heart of Paris, in Le Marais district, Hôtel Bourg Tibourg invites you to a dream-like journey throughout the 19th century, in a charming, lavish décor.
Jacques Garcia gets inspired by oriental arts, romanticism and lush neo-gothic style to create a sumptuous indoor spectacle, with heavy curtains, dark chests and dim lighting, Byzantine alcoves and mosaic-tile tubs.

La Mamounia Hotel, in Marrakech
Jacques Garcia designed Marrakech famous hotel, La Mamounia, where he reinterprets the elements of the Moorish-style architecture adding the French sophistication. A wonderfully hectic designed hotel set within the 12-century ramparts surrounding the old medina.
La Mamounia, in the heart of the Red City, surrounded by royal gardens, is designed with some of the unique flavors of Marrakech. It is embracing the thousand ones perfumes and colors of the Marrakech.
The hotel is a great introduction to Marrakech, it is everything you were anticipated about the city and much more.

NoMad Hotel, in New York.
This enchanting beaux arts boutique hotel astonishes with its all-in pursuit of luxury. With an upscale-bohemian interior, NoMad brings Broadway back to its golden days.
Jacques Garcia draws upon the richness of the materials: damask-printed velvet partitions, reclaimed maple hardwood floors, leather headboard with engraved detailing, beautiful Persian rugs, Sferra linens.
The hotel’s focal point is the 2 story library, with a spiral staircase from France, a gateway for the bibliophiles that crave for both a good read and creative cocktails.

I love how the artist speaks of his work: “Real French taste is what? It’s Louis XIV, it’s Mme. de Pompadour, it’s Marie Antoinette, it’s Napoleon and Josephine and it’s the Third and Fourth Republics, Marie-Laure de Noailles, Coco Chanel. That’s France. They’re all too much. And I’m with them.”
Jacques Garcia through Interna Collection gives his most personal interpretation of the clients’ dream for a hotel.
“Interna Collection has created together with Jacques Garcia a collection of unique products, with attention to every last detail and capable of creating a very special atmosphere, which is at the same time warm and luxurious, elegant and comfortable, flamboyant and refined.”
“I am for freedom in taste and expression. I love revisiting history, bringing back the sweetness of bygone days, being an echo of the luxurious and the sumptuous”, says the artist.
Let’s visit an elegant interior, a setting inspired by the neo-Gothic impressive style, a true echo of luxury, due to Jacques Garcia’s pieces of art for Interna Collection.
