Majorum 2006- Pouilly Fumé, Michel Redde
A lovely example of a mature Pouilly-Fumé, a dry white wine made from Sauvignon Blanc grapes, one of the Loire Valley’s most revered wines.
It has a creamy, fresh butter edge to its peach, plantain, almond and melon notes.
The nose is complex with apple, melon, kiwi, citrus, and grapefruit aromas.
The fumé in Blanc Fumé is French for ‘smoky’ so it denotes the strong aroma that characterizes the local Sauvignon Blanc wines.
Majorum 2006 pairs well with rich fish, such as salmon, tuna, shellfish or vegetarian dishes.
I find it elegant and complex with aromas of lemon, grapefruit and spices. It is recommendable to serve this wine a touch warmer than too cold as it enables to reveal more elaborated aromas.
You can find more information about this wine on Vinopedia. One of the places you can buy it from is Comtesse du Barry.
Just enjoy simply swirling and smelling the complex and beautiful aromas rising up from a glass of Majorum 2006! Then savor it sip by sip!
