The Horse Eye – coaching with horses

Leadership with horses – a great way to enjoy working in teams!

I am watching a beautiful herd of 7-8 horses coming inside the arena, playing with each other, galloping around in all their splendor, elegantly offering a nice spectacle… After few minutes, a question is coming from the ring master: which one is the leader?

The answer is looked for in whispered questions: which one seems more active? More in control of the others? Who is more daring? Which one is followed by other horses? Which one seems cooler, distant and less approachable? Are these qualities we paid attention in our search for the leader? Apparently, yes. 50 people and 10 minutes after, we were still trying to guess.

 The answer came so simple and of common sense: the one less “showing off”, the one watching the others making sure they are ok.

George and Corina Leca, the organizers of the Horse Eye- experiential learning programs, are leading seminars that help people learn more about their communication and leadership style by connecting with horses. The sessions are interactive and provide an ‘in the moment’ learning experience, individuals being able to identify and shift their limiting behavior patterns that impedes them from developing trusting relationships. George and Corina offer us a “way”, the horse is “our mirror- they reflect back to us our authentic self. And here we are the challenged ones to learn about ourselves from the horses, facing introspection and the need to change and improve. We learn to work with a horse the same way we should do we each other, paying attention to subtle body language, emotional messages, clarity in thoughts and confidence.

The new perspective learnt through the interaction with horses is applied into business and family environment. It got me thinking on non-verbal communication and my relationship with my 2 year old, about empathy, positive intelligence and forward-thinking leadership.

Business owners and executives or managers, as well as individuals and their families s , they all seek the Horses Eye programs because of the impact on their lives and their close ones.

The following Horse Eye programs provide a dynamic process of teaching leadership and self-awareness skills, building trust and relationships:

Transformational Leadership Seminar – is a fully experiential seminar dedicated to managers, top managers and teams. Horses will play the role of colleagues, teams, and clients. Based on exercises mimicking the office environment and real business situations, the participants will explore leadership styles and behaviors associated with leadership; power, pressure management, simple and clear communication, fresh perspectives, attention to other’s needs, presence, focus on objectives, overcoming challenges, trust, authenticity, etc.

Easy Change Seminar – it is a seminar with the purpose of emotionally attaching people to change and transformation. It is a seminar based on the Appreciative Inquiry (AI), a model for analysis, decision-making and the creation of strategic change, particularly within companies and other organizations. AI advocates collective inquiry into the best of what is, in order to imagine what could be, followed by collective design of a desired future state that is compelling and thus, does not require the use of incentives, coercion or persuasion for planned change to occur – could be a natural continuation for people that attended the Transformational Leadership Seminar.

Secret Anatomy of Projects – it is a “technical” seminar dedicated to Strategy Execution, Portfolio Office, Programme & Project Management & Sponsorship. Here, participants will dive into the essentials (not basics) of projects execution framework, finding answers on topics that are not explicitly addressed by methodologies or project management courses. In the second part of this seminar, participants will have the opportunity to choose and discuss several hot topics and also address / optimize a particular project or program or their decision / governance framework.

121 Leadership Coaching – this is an 8 sessions or 5 sessions (if the coachee has attended the leadership seminar before) program helping the coachee to discover its strengths, formulate and achieve a business or personal objective.

Equine Constellations – is an alternative therapeutic method which attempts in a single session to explore and reveal relationship in between people or families and resolve the tense or deleterious effects of that dynamic by encouraging the subject to accept the factual reality. This has a favorable effect on relationships, well-being, and raising awareness generally. Positive outcomes from this therapeutic exercise are attributed to conventional explanations such as suggestion and empathy..
