Ancestral 2008 Feteasca Neagra
The other day we tasted again what the experts say it’s among the best Romanian wines: Ancestral 2008 Feteasca Neagra, Cramele Basilescu from Dealu Mare region.
Dealu Mare is becoming known for the quality of its wines and this red blend of traditional grapes is no exception.
Perfumed, elegant nose, fruity with plum and blackforest notes and a walnut flavor finish. Soft tannins and spice hints highlight this delicios wine. It is beautifully balanced, with soft acidity.
Red- ruby color, purple reflexes, dry plum perfume give elegance . The palate is ample, powerful, expressive, with subtle earth under the sweet fruit.
The particular terroir gives the wine a subtle distinction. It needs to be decanted for one hour before serving in order to release all its flavors and if not served at 16-17 degrees you will not enjoy its full potential.
We’ve enjoyed it with a platter of cheese however any type of red meat will be complemented heavenly.
Refined and delicious!
